After our launch party at end January, the next big date in our diary was the London Book Fair, 10-12 March 2020. Big Face Projects booked a shelf in the Poetry Collective section of the LBF. We were looking forward to playing at being publishers, brushing shoulders with Faber and Faber, and seeing how our book measured up to other new poetry/art books from around the world. For obvious reasons, LBF was cancelled. All physical promotion of the book will have to go on hold until some form of normality is restored. Stay safe in strange times.
Launch Party
On 31st January, we held a book launch party at the Poetry Cafe in London. About 60 friends and family joined us for a joyous celebration of Line by Line being officially out there in the world. For Hugh, it was also the fulfillment of a childhood dream to ‘come out’ as a Poet in public. The turquoise, two-tone, Thai silk, Nehru suit got its second outing in 15 years. We hung Ellie’s original artwork on the walls and Hugh read some poems.

Signing and sending
We spent the morning signing copies of the book and then posting them off to everyone who ordered through the Indiegogo website. Anyone who ordered before 23rd Jan should now have received a copy in the post or had one hand delivered by me or Ellie. If you haven’t received yours, please let us know by sending an email to info@bigfaceprojects.co.uk.
Hotsy Totsy outing
On Monday 6th January, Hugh read from Line by Line at the poetry evening of the Hotsy Totsy club in Ghent.
